Let the Arlington Road Runners Club (a chapter of the Road Runners Club of America) help you prepare for a variety of local spring races including: Shamrock Half Marathon, National Wirefly Half Marathon, Cherry Blossom 10-Miler, Charlottesville Half Marathon, Frederick Half Marathon, and the GW Parkway Classic 10-Miler and 5K. ARRC was formed to promote fitness through walking and running programs. We will help you reach your race and fitness goals while providing a fun, supportive atmosphere. We meet at Gateway Park in Rosslyn and start at 9am. We are located one block from the Rosslyn Metro Station. Free parking is available two blocks away at the WJLA Building at 1100 Wilson Blvd. Our Fall/Winter season starts on November 15, 2008 and meets every Saturday until March 28, 2009. We will offer two distinct programs:
Fitness Training - This is a time-based training program. You will start training by walking or running 30 minutes and slowly build up over the 20 weeks until you are walking or running 90 minutes.
Half Marathon Program - This is a 20 week program to help the beginning runner or walker complete a half marathon. We start at 3 miles and slowly build up to 12 miles. At that point you should be physically and mentally prepared to participate in your chosen race. Runners and walkers will also train with an appropriate group for your pace. See our groups tab for more details.
